Is advance purchase required? Is cash accepted?

Tickets must be purchased in advance, as space is limited per tour. To maximize your chances of getting the day and time you prefer, please book well in advance. Cash is not accepted.

What happens if it rains?

The tours are held rain or shine! In the event of inclement weather, we will be inside the restaurants on the tour. You should dress appropriately for the day's weather conditions. In the extremely rare event that the tour has to be canceled (tropical storm), you will be able to reschedule to another time or receive credit for a future event.

If a food tour is sold out, is there a waiting list?

We do not provide a waiting list. If a date and time is sold out, there is always a chance that we will add an additional tour on that day. Please email KeyWestFoodTours@gmail.com to let us know what date you are interested in.

What is the maximum number of people per tour?

In order to provide an intimate, personalized experience, the tour is limited to 12 people per tour guide. Additional tour guides may be added to accommodate larger private groups.

How much food is served on the tour? What sort of food will I be sampling?

The walking tour presents 5 restaurants for tastings. Most people find there is enough food to be reasonably full at the conclusion of the tour. The foods we sample feature Key West specialties, which may include seafood and meats, as well as sweet desserts. Keep in mind that restaurants may vary from tour to tour and may change without notice.

Are beverages provided?

Yes, water is always available on this tour. Note that Key West Food Tours does not provide alcohol but you can purchase it on your own during the tour. Other beverages will also be available for purchase.

What about dietary restrictions?

Unfortunately, we are not able to make food substitutions for allergies or for vegetarians at this time. Although the tastings can vary, please expect this tour to include food tastings such as meat, seafood and shellfish, dairy, etc. In the future we do hope to be able to accommodate food allergies. Do we just walk around and sample food?

Absolutely not! Key West has a wonderful, rich history. Visitors learn the history of the island and hear about the many influences that shaped our culture. The tour is fully narrated by your guide, who will discuss history, culture, architecture and foliage.

What restaurants do we visit on the tour?

It's a surprise! We will visit a selection of 5 restaurants, but do keep in mind that the tour routes and thereby the exact restaurants we visit may vary from tour to tour.

How much walking is involved?

Our Guided Foot Tours generally last 2.5 hours depending on the pace of our group, and we are on our feet for approximately 75% of the time. We walk about 1 mile at a moderate pace, and most restaurants provide a place to sit and eat.

Can I bring children on the tour?

Yes children are welcome to join us. Please consider whether your children will enjoy the tour and whether it is appropriate for them. Keep in mind that we will be discussing cultural history and that much of the tour is walking. Children ages 7 and younger may come on the tour free of charge, but we ask that you please notify us if you will be bringing any children ages 7 or younger upon purchasing your tickets. All other participants will require a full priced ticket.

Can I shop on the tour?

We ask that you please wait to shop until after the tour so that we can stay on schedule with our restaurants. We recommend that you allow time at the end of the tour to return to your favorite locations and/or stores.

Does the tour end at the same place we meet?

No, the tour does not finish at the same place as where we begin the tour. The start and end points are approximately 2 blocks apart, and our tour guides will provide detailed directions for those interested in returning to the starting point.

Is the tour wheelchair and baby stroller accessible?

Yes, our tour routes and restaurants are wheelchair accessible and baby stroller friendly.

Are bathrooms available during the tour?

Yes, restrooms are available during the tour.

Is there parking near the tour's meeting point?

Yes, although parking is difficult in downtown Key West near the meeting point. There is parking located near the final location which is approximately 2 blocks from the meeting point. Specific parking details are included in the meeting location directions after purchasing you ticket. Please allow ample time before the tour for parking and arriving at the meeting point.

Does this tour have anything to offer a native from Key West?

Definitely! Many of our attendees live right here in Key West. Our knowledgeable guides share exciting secrets about the Keys, and perhaps introduce you to new favorites!

Does the tour leader accept gratuities?

Gratuities are greatly appreciated, although not mandatory.

Are cameras allowed?

Yes, visitors are allowed and encouraged to take pictures at any of the establishments we visit.

Are pets allowed?

Due to the policies of the various food establishments we visit, pets are not allowed on this tour.

Are tours offered only in English?

Yes, the tours are only offered in English at this time. Please email KeyWestFoodTours@gmail.com if you would like to make arrangements for your own interpreter to join the tour.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes! Gift certificates for a food tour make a perfect gift for any special occasion. Please email KeyWestFoodTours@gmail.com if you'd like to request a gift certificate.

Do you offer private tours?

Yes! Private tours are available and are perfect for bachelorette/bachelor outings, corporate adventures, school field trips, and more! We can accommodate groups of more than 12 people on a private tour. Please email KeyWestFoodTours@gmail.com to inquire further.
