The Best Events in Key West this April 2024

April has sprung! This month we’ve got a lot to celebrate and we hope you can join us. We have a few fun things Blooming below that sum up life on the island. Experience our history, culture and food and add these events to your calendar!

 

Papio Kinetic Sculpture Parade
One thing we’ve got going in Key West is our creativity! Come revel in the magic of the Papio Kinetic Sculpture Parade! This is a “family-friendly, art-inspired, human-powered, mobile sculpture and art-bike parade (think art with parts that move) created in honor of the late Florida Keys rebel folk artist Stanley Papio.” Check out the website here for all of the information whether you’d like to participate or just be a spectator. Either way. it’s sure to delight! Parade starts at sunset April 24 in front of The Custom House

Sailfish Tournament

Florida, and the Florida Keys specifically is known as the Sport Fishing Capital of the World, and from April 11-13 you can find out why during the inaugural Key West Sailfish Tournament. Tournament is expected to bring world class teams from all over to compete for the top of the leaderboard as well as prize money. Event will be held at Dante’s Pool bar. More information here

Conch Republic Days

 

The Conch Republic’s 42nd Annual birthday party means 10 days of nonstop festivities. Try your hand at the conch blowing competition, attend the Independence Celebration Parada Party, and close it all out with an epic pig roast and pirate costume competition. An unforgettable week in Key West! Conch Republic Days

Ocean Fest

“Underwater and outdoor enthusiasts, ecotravelers and families are encouraged to celebrate the marine environment at Mote’s Ocean Fest: A Community Celebration. Proceeds and donations from the festival support Mote Marine Laboratory’s coral reef restoration and research programs. Join us for Ocean Fest in Key West, Florida, from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. April 20, 2024, in Truman Waterfront Park. Mote’s Ocean Fest invites people of all ages to enjoy a fun day of crafts, games, music, food, local brews (for ages 21+) and shopping as we showcase our treasured marine environment while raising money for coral reef research, restoration and conservation. Attendees can explore conservation and environmental exhibits, meet Mote scientists along with other conservation and environmental organizations from around Florida, and learn about the work they are doing and how you can help.”

Eat Conch on a Food Tour

Conch is widely known as an aphrodisiac, but its the homemade Key Lime Aioli that turns us on!

Conch, arguably are most notable ingredient here in the Florida Keys, comes in the form of a fritter on our food tour. Eat and drink other famous dishes particular to our region like Cuban cuisine, rum, and of course Key lime pie!

Brunch with QUEENS!

One of our Southernmost vendors, Mangoes, is hosting a monthly event that has caught absolute FIRE: Drunken Drag Brunch. For $40, expect endless mimosas and your ticket to the show. They feature additional signature drinks, shots, and an ala carte brunch menu to enjoy between laughs, singing, and all around debauchery.

First Fridays on Fleming

Join Us for the monthly ‘First Friday on Fleming’ from 6-9PM & ‘Spend An Evening with The Locals!’ – explore all the locally-owned & operated stores, galleries, studios & restaurants of fabulous Fleming Street. When: April 5
