Key West loves Tennessee Williams as much as he once loved our little 4 by 2 mile island! We celebrate his birthday every year with locally acted productions of his most famous plays and showings of his works that made it to the big screen. It doesn’t end there. He’s honored with short story writing and painting contests complete with prizes and an awards ceremony…and cake, because what birthday is complete without cake?!? Visit their website to sign up to compete or to purchase tickets to the shows and events.

6.  Delight in delicious “Dock to Dish” cuisine.

The Docks is our new favorite seafood spot that’s tucked away and off the beaten path. Located just one island north of Key West, in Stock Island, this restaurant & raw bar is the epitome of island dining. As indicated by the name, it’s situated right on the fishing docks so not only are you experiencing a taste of “Old Key West” but you’re guaranteed to be served the freshest seafood available. It’s never a bad time to jump on the Historic Seaport Tour, but March happens to be a particularly great time to do so. The sun is out, the food is hot, and the drinks are on ice. Guests get taken “behind the scenes” of Duval and led through side streets which feature some of THE BEST (but not always most widely known) eateries Key West, FL has to offer! As a bonus, your guide stops throughout the tour to highlight architectural, historical, and cultural fun facts. You leave full and happen to learn something while getting there…money well spent.
