What to Expect

Unique Food Tastings – Our guided 3-hour Southernmost Food Tasting & Cultural Walking Tour visits 6 locally-run “mom and pop” establishments in historic old town. Delicious and mouth watering food tastings, enough for a hearty lunch, are served from ethnic eateries and specialty shops that are unique to the Florida Keys. Stops include authentic Cuban roast pork, rum-runner cocktails from an old speakeasy, and world famous key lime pie from Key West’s most iconic restaurant.

Historical & Cultural Experience – Between tastings, you’ll experience what life is like for a Conch (a native to Key West). Today’s Key West local population is an evolution of native Indians, Cubans, Bahamians, Greeks, explorers, adventurers, pirates, wreckers, scavengers, fisherman, hippies, writers, and artists. We can’t wait to tell you about how the island survived them. Our passionate, local guides share their knowledge and recommendations of architectural gems, tropical flora, and exciting local attractions and restaurants.

Small Group Sizes & Knowledgable Local Guides – The tour group size maxes out at 10 people to ensure that there is a personalized and memorable experience for all. Our local guides are experts on Key West and are eager to show an authentic side to our island. There is so much more to Key West than Duval Street! After the guided tour, explore Key West’s neighborhoods with confidence and take advantage of recommendations from your local guide on the restaurants, attractions, entertainment and cultural offerings.

GET DIRECTIONS

Have questions? Here's the most frequently asked.

Of course! We welcome young foodies on our Southernmost Food Tour but they must be accompanied by an adult.

However, the tours average 3 hours in length and do involve a fair degree of standing and walking so we ask that you consider whether your child would like to participate on a food tour. Parents, who know their children best, should assess the situation individually.

There will be a non-alcoholic beverage served to the children during the tasting.

Please note, there is a special Child Ticket Fare of $49 for children joining the tour, ages 4-12 who will be eating. Children under the age of 3 not participating in the tastings do not require a separate ticket.

Our Southernmost Food Tours are held rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather however, we will be able to go inside of all of the establishments on the tour. We also provide ponchos and/or umbrellas in case of sudden weather changes if you do not have your own umbrella. However, we advise you to check the weather conditions for your tour date and dress/prepare appropriately.

If severe weather (such as a hurricane or tropical storm) does prevent the tour from taking place, you will receive a full refund or a gift certificate to use on a date of your convenience.

In addition to a healthy appetite, please bring along your e-ticket (electronic form is fine) to give to your tour guide at the tour starting point.

In terms of clothing, we suggest that you wear comfortable, light clothing and walking shoes. Summer months (May-September) in Key West can be very hot and humid and we recommend that you wear sun protection i.e. sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, etc.

Ice water will be provided at several of our tasting locations throughout the tour to help keep you hydrated. However, you might also like to bring your own bottle of water with you.

We also suggest you bring a camera to capture the memories you’ll create during the tour and lastly-gratuity for your tour guide if he/she impresses you!

Yes. You can always find parking in this area. There is street parking on Catherine street, and if you are unable to find a spot, a tour guide standing on the corner of the first location will assist you. Please DO NOT park at the spots reserved for the first restaurant as they are very limited. There is plenty of street parking nearby.

Our Southernmost Food Tour can accommodate guests with strollers, and guests requiring wheelchair assistance. However, the tour is not suitable for guests with severe mobility issues.

We can always offer a modified tour route but it goes without saying that some of the presentations throughout the tour will be missed and the overall experience will not be as complete for the tour participant in that case.

If you are planning to push a stroller, please let us know at least 24 hours before the tour begins to so that we can ensure you have the best tour experience possible.
