This funny musical tells the story of how the Florida Keys took on the Feds back in the early 80s. A historical story so preposterous that you couldn’t have made it up if you tried! Three actors and a piano tell the story. It will be an evening of song, dance, and plenty of flags — which is in truth HOW the Conch Republic began! Apr. 20, 2017 – Apr. 23, 2017

Every April we are taken back to 1982 when the Florida Keys tried to secede from the United States. The Conch Republic days have events happening all over the island. With activities ranging from wacky bed race to a lighthearted sea battle featuring tall ships, the Conch Republic’s 10-day birthday party showcases the independent and eccentric spirit that characterizes the Florida Keys.
